I'm running Windows 10 and the CAC reader is ActivIdentity's USB Reader v3.The SGT119 Smart Badge is wearable smart card reader. To me, it seems that the computer is still recognizing the reader and the software is there - but Windows Security is somehow blocking the system from accessing/recognizing/allowing the reader.

Manager, reinstalled it and also updated the driver from the product's website. Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media as well as the Device Manager both recognize the CAC reader when plugged in.

I have tried with three different smart cards, all of which operate on other computers, none on mine. Instead, it simply says "connect a smart card." Now, though, when windows security prompts me to select a smart card device, there is no option. Then a box pops up from Windows Security asking me to select a smart card device, I click the only option Typically whenever I access a website that needs my CAC (email, DTS, etc), it prompts me to select my name from a list of credentials, which I do. Windows Security seems to have randomly stopped recognizing my CAC reader, this happened early September. Windows Security is no longer recognizing my CAC reader (Smart Card reader) The card reader i'm using is called "Stanley Global Technologies" and in Device Manager it shows as Smart Card Reader- "Alcor Micro USB Smart Card Reader". Can you please help fix how my computer will detect the card Internet explorer, google chrome, and firefox all fail to see the CAC Card on this computer. Not a problem with the card reader, or the card, it is a problem with some settings in this computer. The card reader shows on the computer under Device Manager, it shows on other computers too, and the CAC Card works on other computers. The card reader is detected, I've updated and reinstalled the driver multiple times.

On an other post here, a fix was suggested for an SD card. TheĬard reader is fine, but the card itself isn't detecting. After a recent windows update, my computer no longer detects my CAC CARD. I'm in the military and use a CAC CARD reader to access websites. Hello, I've read several posts with the EXACT same question, but they're not resolved, so I'm starting my own. Helping to find a solution would not only help me but many others with this same issue. I have seen this very issue posted many times on the help forms and the few actual suggestions I have tired. Under services, certificates and smart card readers are running and automatic. Under devices, I can see both smart card readers and both have newest drivers. I have read and used all the steps and tips I could find on Military CAC to no avail.

I also know my desktop (which is the issue) use to work fine until I did the update. However, I know my CAC and the readers are good because both work with no issues on my laptop and at work. SCR331 and a Stanley global as card readers.

On activclient (middleware), it would say no card reader detected. When I would try to log onto military sites, it would say no certificates present.
